Addendums to the Serenity Prayer
Every classic needs an update.
And God also grant me…
…the patience not to ask my server where my food is five minutes after I’ve ordered, especially when every table at the restaurant is full.
…the strength to sound convincing when I tell my boss their kid is cute and not the ugliest child I’ve seen in my years on planet Earth.
…the winning lottery numbers.
…the courage to still follow the news.
…the wisdom to not answer any question my girlfriend asks when she’s angry at me.
…the ketamine to make it through my son’s fourth grade recital.
…the serenity not to get out of my car and punch the guy behind me who honks his damn horn one millisecond after the light turns green.
…the emotional stability to stop trying to mentally win this one argument I had ten years ago.
…the strength not to feel guilty after I yell at the dog for pooping in my shoe.
…the amount of wine necessary to make it through Thanksgiving dinner.
New posts every Monday and Thursday.
