I wrote this over the holiday to submit to a publication. By the time everyone was back at work, the news cycle had moved so fast that this already felt like a quaint relic of a bygone era, two weeks previously. Enjoy this artifact of late December 2025:
The Civil War, After Delivering the Gettysburg Address
What an INCREDIBLE HONOR for our troops — your President Trump made a speech today at Gettysburg. Big, beautiful graveyard. People were crying. You’ve never seen so many tears. Very emotional.
So many HEROIC dead soldiers. And also living soldiers, missing limbs — very sad. Very sad. Frankly, it’s a DISASTER that America wastes so much money on West Point when our soldiers aren’t trained to get out of the way of cannonballs. Those things are HUGE. Very slow. You can see them coming from a mile away. Just move.
Standing there at the cemetery, so many brave troops who gave up so much. But let’s be honest — nobody sacrificed more than me. Last week I had to recall Jared to the Capitol just as he was about to close a BIG, BEAUTIFUL DEAL with the French government to build a Trump International Golf Course in Lyon. Millions and millions of dollars — gone. Melania — beautiful, very giving — has been volunteering at a veterans hospital, and believe me, I’m the one who has to hear about it. And don’t forget, if we win this war, I agreed to give up all that GREAT FREE LABOR. Nobody talks about that sacrifice.
The CORRUPT and LYING HOAX-STORIANS don’t want you to know this, and they’d love for the world to forget my speech today. So here’s the good news: I’m having a statue built — PURE GOLD-PLATED BRASS, very classy — right in the middle of Gettysburg, to honor my tremendous success there. Everyone agrees it was a great speech.
The Moon Landing
We as a nation did what so many LOSER critics and detractors said we couldn’t — today, under the leadership of the GREAT TRUMP ADMINISTRATION, we landed a man on the Moon. The late John F. Kennedy — very sad, real tragedy, rest in peace — talked about it. Lots of talk. But it took a leader like your favorite President to actually GET. IT. DONE.
Standing at the Donald J. Trump/John F. Kennedy Space Center, surrounded by the science people I approved, the whole world watched as my personal pick for astronaut Neil Armstrong announced one small step for Man. He didn’t say which Man — but let’s be honest, he didn’t have to. Next time you can say my name, Neil.
My congratulations also go to the people at NASA — the experts, the science-knowers — who did most of the work while I was very busy running the country. But it takes a REAL GENIUS to pick the right people and say “YOU’RE HIRED.” That’s leadership.
The FAKE NEWS in the press will say Trump had nothing to do with this. So we’re fixing that. In 1970 we’re going back. Right next to the flag, we will carve the name “DONALD J. TRUMP MEMORIAL MOON.”

This morning your President was on Fox & Friends — a tremendous appearance, one of the BEST ever, everyone is saying it. Really DESTROYING the democRATs, very weak, very dishonest people.
Right in the middle of my appearance (which was going EXTREMELY well) we started getting reports out of downtown Manhattan. Very sad situation. VERY bad. A lot of people killed, and a lot of very valuable property destroyed — nobody wants to talk about that part, but it’s true.
We did the Art of the Deal launch party (NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER) at Windows on the World. Beautiful place. Incredible views. The staff there were excellent people, very professional. Tipped them VERY well. RIP.
Just got off the phone with Rupert Murdoch, very smart guy, who told me that between the breaking news (carried LIVE) and my Fox & Friends appearance, the ratings were through the ROOF. Records. Nothing like it has ever been seen before. Your president made HISTORY.
No President has ever handled a morning like this better than me. Nobody. And that’s something the terrorists will NEVER be able to take away from me.
